An AI assistant over VHF for marinas, harbours and local fleets. Help visiting crews get routine answers and keep local information consistent.
For visiting crews.
For the team ashore.
Publish service availability, opening hours, notices and contacts alongside local time, weather and modelled tides.
Opening hours can update service status automatically. The VHF assistant answers routine marina questions using your configured information. Optional AI supports broader natural-language enquiries, while your team maintains the local facts.
Illustrative exchange. Live VHF requires commissioned radio hardware.Your operational profile lives locally. Core local functions remain available without internet; online services and fresh weather updates need connectivity.
Connect up to four cameras per box. Keep feeds private or publish selected views. Add optional local person and boat detection.
Give visiting crews the information they need before they reach the dock.

Give marina teams and local fleets a shared way to handle routine radio exchanges. Write from a phone or computer, automate messages and keep a record.
Live transmit and receive depend on a commissioned VHF and audio installation.
Try a conversation with Neptune.
Neptune, is the fuel dock open?
In this example, the fuel dock is open. Published hours are 08:00 to 18:00. Over.
Interactive demonstration only. No audio or RF transmission. Marina services are sample data; the weather option uses the feed above.
On board. At anchor.
On an island.
Neptune Box devices use less than 10 watts, making power planning simpler for boats and remote stations.
Devices have their own battery and solar cells for locations away from a fixed supply.
Use an AC or DC supply to suit the installation on board or ashore.
Update device software, settings and the information your station holds over the air. Remote updates need a suitable connection; stored local information remains available when that connection is interrupted.
Join its setup hotspot from a phone or computer, choose Wi-Fi or standalone operation, and configure your vessel, marina or station profile. Commission radio, cameras and integrations before operational use. Software, settings and information can then be updated over the air with a suitable connection.
Yes. Write messages in Neptune Box’s browser interface and send them through the connected VHF radio. You can automate routine messages, reuse saved phrases, read incoming transcriptions and review radio logs. Live radio operation requires the appropriate configured hardware and installation.
Neptune stations can be deployed at anchorages, islands, harbours and remote coastal locations to hold key local information. Each site needs suitable mounting, a radio installation and power planning. A connection is needed for remote updates and fresh external data.
Device software, settings and station information can be updated remotely over the air when the device has a suitable connection. This lets operators maintain local notices, contacts and other key information without travelling to the station for each change.
Neptune Box devices use less than 10 W. They have their own battery and solar cells and can also connect to AC or DC power. The power arrangement and battery autonomy are scoped for the installation and local conditions.
Potential uses include public-facing local information, routine VHF enquiries and operator-maintained notices at coastal stations. A pilot should define the users, information ownership, radio installation and review process. Neptune’s documentation does not establish government accreditation, emergency-service certification or suitability for mission-critical use; those requirements need a separate assessment.
No. Several boxes can share an operational profile through Airtable or Hybrid mode, but each station has its own radio installation. This is not a documented radio mesh, repeater network or automatic vessel handover system. Any coverage objective needs site surveys, suitable hardware, connectivity planning and validation.
Core operational information is stored locally. Standalone mode lets devices connect directly to Neptune Box. Fresh weather and tide data, optional OpenAI responses and cloud synchronisation require internet access. Cached or modelled information may be out of date.
No. Routine answers can come directly from your configured operational data. Optional OpenAI integration supports broader natural-language questions when configured and connected.
The target appliance uses a Raspberry Pi 5, SA828-V transceiver, USB audio interface, control wiring and marine VHF antenna. Production radio operation depends on the final hardware driver, audio path, installation and commissioning. The operator is responsible for licensing, lawful channels and radio procedure.
Up to four supported cameras can be configured, with individual public or private visibility. Optional local vision detects generic people and boats; it does not identify individuals or prove vessel identity. The AIS overlay interface is implemented, but a live AIS source and suitable adapter still need to be connected and validated. Overlays use camera bearing and field of view, not certain visual identification.
Yes. Airtable or Hybrid mode can synchronise a shared operational profile while keeping radio and camera configuration specific to each box. Camera passwords and private stream addresses remain local and are not synced to Airtable.
No. Neptune is an information and communications aid. Weather and modelled tide data are not for navigation. Operators must independently verify safety-critical information and retain responsibility for radio operation.
